Football Game Preview: Benton Tigers vs. Parkway Panthers + How To Watch

Benton and Parkway are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2019, but not for long. The Tigers will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Benton came up short against Byrd and fell 49-40. Despite 126 more yards than the Yellow Jackets, the Tigers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Benton's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Malachi Zeigler, who threw for 486 yards and five TDs while completing 71.1% of his passes, and Case Austin, who picked up 152 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. With that strong performance, Austin is now averaging an impressive 104.1 receiving yards per game. Another receiver making a difference was Owen Patterson, who picked up 85 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Meanwhile, Parkway put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Captain Shreve 45-42.

Benton better keep an eye on Kb Williams. He was instrumental in Parkway's win, throwing for 167 yards and two touchdowns.

Parkway's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Benton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Thursday's game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Zeigler and Williams. Zeigler just won't slow down this season and has thrown 20 touchdowns while averaging 283.9 passing yards per game. Williams has been a dominant force too and has thrown 29 touchdowns (and and only 2 picks) while averaging 247 passing yards per game.
