Basketball Recap: LeRoy-Ostrander Comes Up Short

LeRoy-Ostrander was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton, falling 61-18. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 388th, while Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton are ranked 95th).

Benita Nolt was LeRoy-Ostrander's leading scorer, having posted six points. Miranda Nagel took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

LeRoy-Ostrander's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

LeRoy-Ostrander has already played their next game, a 64-50 loss against Loyola on the 24th. As for Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton, they will square off against Kingsland at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Kingsland likes a good challenge.
