Baseball Recap: Skyridge's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

It's playoff time, and Skyridge had no trouble coming through when it counted. They won by a run and slipped past the Copper Hills Grizzlies 4-3. The win was some much needed relief for the Falcons as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Rip Roberts Roberts made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Roberts was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Skyridge's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 7-1 (and 8-11 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Miles Robinson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Max Grover was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Skyridge's record now sits at 15-12. As for Copper Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season.

Skyridge will have a chance to go back-to-back against Copper Hills: the pair will be back at it again later today.
