Softball Recap: Thayer Has No Trouble Against Liberty

While Thayer put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Liberty. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 15-0 win. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

McKenzie Morris made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Thayer got a massive performance out of Kadyn Hilles, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Hilles has posted since back in March. Crystal Edwards also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Thayer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .719. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty only posted an OBP of .143.

Thayer's record is now 15-5. As for Liberty, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Thayer has already played their next contest (against Koshkonong), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Liberty, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Dora at 4:30 p.m. on May 4.
