Softball Recap: Union County Comes Up Short

Union County lost against Madisonville-North Hopkins back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Braves fell 7-3 to the Maroons.

Jaylen Tackett was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Bryleigh Walsh also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Union County's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Madisonville-North Hopkins, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Union County will take on Owensboro at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Braves are facing the Red Devils at the right time seeing as the Red Devils are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Madisonville-North Hopkins, they will square off against Castle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
