Volleyball Recap: Marquette Takes Down Ranked St. Joseph's Academy

Marquette faced St. Joseph's Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mustangs blew past the Angels 3-0. The victory was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on three straight.

Marquette never let St. Joseph's Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-20, 25-23.

Marquette's offense was headlined by Danaya Petkova and Teagan Pocius, who picked up 16 kills apiece. They got some help from Maggie Smith and her 28 assists.

Marquette's win bumped their record up to 19-16. As for St. Joseph's Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 20-11-1.

Looking ahead, Marquette will welcome Lafayette at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Joseph's Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
