Basketball Recap: Southern Academy Cougars vs. Lakeside School Chiefs
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Southern Academy Cougars walked away with it. They came out on top against the Chiefs by a score of 42-31 on Friday. The win was familiar territory for Southern Academy who now have six in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southern Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaitlyn Sluder, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Madeline Chapman, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Southern Academy pushed their record up to 16-2 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lakeside School, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.
Southern Academy will take on the Wildcats at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Edgewood Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last ten games. Lakeside School does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
