Preview: Indian Creek Braves vs. South Putnam Eagles
Indian Creek has been on the road for seven straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the South Putnam Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Indian Creek ultimately got the result they hoped for last Saturday. They managed a 60-55 victory over Westfield.
Indian Creek had a senior duo take command as Faith Wiseman dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds and Lauren Foster scored 17 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Wiseman is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Sichting, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, South Putnam was able to grind out a solid win over Monrovia on Wednesday, taking the game 58-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for South Putnam.
Indian Creek's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for South Putnam, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-8.
Everything came up roses for Indian Creek against South Putnam when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 60-24 victory. Will Indian Creek repeat their success, or does South Putnam have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
