Volleyball Recap: Olympian Comes Up Short

Olympian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sweetwater Red Devils. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Red Devils when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Olympian started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 17-25, 25-23, 25-21, 15-5.

Olympian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Sweetwater, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2.

Olympian has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Clairemont on the 25th. As for Sweetwater, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Lincoln on the 21st.
