Football Recap: Dripping Springs' Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday + How To Watch

Dripping Springs and Vandegrift squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Dripping Springs had to settle for second. They fell 27-20 to the Vipers. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vipers earlier this season, when they won 41-14.

Dripping Springs lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Merrik Bloomgren, who picked up 161 receiving yards and two TDs. Another player making a difference was Chase Ames, who threw for 357 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Vandegrift had a senior duo take command as Miles Teodecki threw for 183 yards and one TD while completing 89.5% of his passes and Brock Chilton picked up 132 receiving yards and one score. The Vipers also got a significant boost from Justin Moore, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 90 yards.

With the loss, Dripping Springs broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-2. As for Vandegrift, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2.

Dripping Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Vandegrift, they will host King at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Evan Williamson and Dionne Sims.
