Basketball Game Preview: Arlington Eagles vs. Lake Stevens Vikings

The Arlington Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Lake Stevens Vikings at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Arlington is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Arlington is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest win since January 10th on Friday. They were the clear victor by an 80-54 margin over Cascade. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Bruins are ranked 262nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Lake Stevens hadn't done well against Jackson recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Lake Stevens came out on top in a nail-biter against Jackson, sneaking past 58-56. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since November 30, 2023.

Arlington pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points over those games. As for Lake Stevens, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-12.

Arlington strolled past Lake Stevens in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 65-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Arlington since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
