Volleyball Recap: Sam Houston Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Sam Houston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the South Grand Prairie Warriors, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-15, 25-10.

South Grand Prairie can attribute much of their success to Ariel Perez, who had six aces and five assists. That's the most aces Perez has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Raegen Richardson, who had five assists.

Sam Houston's defeat dropped their record down to 5-21-1. As for South Grand Prairie, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-9 record this season.

Sam Houston has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Bowie on the 7th. As for South Grand Prairie, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Arlington on the 7th.
