Football Recap: Notre Dame Prep Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Ja'cari Harris and LJ Richardson + How To Watch

Notre Dame Prep blew Weston out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Weston got their revenge. The Lancers fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 38-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lancers have suffered since September 27, 2024.

LJ Richardson and Ja'Cari Harris certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Richardson rushed for 127 yards and one score on only 11 carries, while Harris rushed for 147 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 carries. Harris is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 106 every time he's taken the field this season.

Even if they lost, Notre Dame Prep's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Nathan Derisme was especially locked on to Weston's QB and sacked him twice.

Timothy Martin was nothing short of spectacular for Weston: he threw for 263 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 31 yards. That's the most passing touchdowns Martin has posted since back in October of 2024.

Having lost for the first time this season, Notre Dame Prep fell to 4-1. As for Weston, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Notre Dame Prep will head out to challenge Nonnewaug/Lakeview/Shepaug Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Weston, they will venture away from home to take on Stratford at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
