Preview: Durango Trailblazers vs. Mojave Rattlers
The Durango Trailblazers will head out on the road to face off against the Mojave Rattlers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Durango is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Durango came up short against Cimarron-Memorial and fell 47-40.
Durango's defeat came about despite a quality game from Amia McKinney, who scored 11 points along with 6 steals. McKinney scored a full 27.5% of Durango's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amarie Riley, who scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 57-22, which was the final score in Mojave's tilt against Basic on Monday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mojave in their matchups with Basic: they've now lost three in a row.
Foothill's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Durango's defeat dropped theirs to 2-6.
Everything came up roses for Durango against Mojave in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 49-20 victory. Does Durango have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mojave turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
