Baseball Recap: Southern Comes Up Short

Southern fell victim to Aquinas and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-0. The Indians just can't catch a break and have now endured nine losses in a row.

Brody Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Southern saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Pitts, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Pitts has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Southern's record now sits at 2-17. As for Aquinas, with the win, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-16.

As of now, neither Southern nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
