Volleyball Recap: Lee's Summit Comes Up Short

Lee's Summit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Staley Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 4th.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-18, 18-25, 25-23.

Staley was led to victory by Mia Brenner and Tatum Massey. Brenner had 15 digs and five assists, while Massey had ten digs and one assist. That's the most assists Brenner has posted over her last ten contests.

Lee's Summit's defeat dropped their record down to 7-19. As for Staley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.

Lee's Summit and Staley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Tigers will square off against Raymore-Peculiar at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (125 vs. 12). Meanwhile, Staley (ranked 40th) will meet Lee's Summit North (ranked fifth) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
