Soccer Recap: McLane Plays to a Tie

On Monday, neither the McLane Highlanders nor the Sunnyside Wildcats could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

McLane's goal came courtesy of Guillermo Martinez, who's now up to 16 this season.

McLane's draw gives them a new season record of 8-3-2. Meanwhile, Sunnyside's record is now 12-3-1.

McLane and Sunnyside should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. McLane (ranked 64th) will meet Justin Garza (ranked 572nd) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. McLane is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.7 goals per game this season. Similarly, Sunnyside will challenge San Joaquin Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday up 523 places (118 vs. 641).
