Basketball Game Preview: Keys Gate Knights vs. Oak Ridge Pioneers

Two dominant guards in Essence Deleon and Khalise Vidal are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Keys Gate Knights will challenge the Oak Ridge Pioneers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Keys Gate took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They breezed by South Dade to the tune of 60-27. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Oak Ridge ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Colonial 57-54. The win almost wasn't to be: the Pioneers were down 31-11 in the second quarter.

Oak Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Keys Gate, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.
