Basketball Game Preview: Glynn Academy Terrors vs. Brunswick Pirates

Glynn Academy is 1-9 against Brunswick since December of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Glynn Academy Terrors will look to defend their home court against the Brunswick Pirates at 6:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Glynn Academy ended up a good deal behind Bradwell Institute and lost 49-35. While losing is never fun, the Terrors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Tigers are ranked 33rd).

Meanwhile, Brunswick made easy work of Statesboro two weeks ago and carried off a 64-40 win. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Glynn Academy better keep an eye on Patrice Mungin. She was instrumental in Brunswick's win, going 12 of 17 en route to 26 points and three steals. That's the most points Mungin has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aspen Pender, who posted no points and 22 steals.

Brunswick was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Brunswick pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.8 points. As for Glynn Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.

Glynn Academy came up short against Brunswick when the teams last played on January 10th, falling 50-39. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Brunswick's Martin Davis, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
