Basketball Recap: Chimanga Mubanga and Gabe Martinez Secure Win for Liberty

Liberty put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 55-46 victory over the Osbourn Park Yellowjackets. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Leading Liberty to victory were Gabe Martinez and Chimanga Mubanga. Martinez dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds, while Mubanga almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Martinez is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was CW Burke, who posted 13 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Liberty pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Osbourn Park, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Liberty wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 71-63 defeat against Eastern View on the 10th. As for Osbourn Park, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-22 loss against Heritage on the 11th.
