DeAndre Ayton, his recruitment has remained a bit of a mystery.
The nation's No. 1 high school basketball prospect according to the
247Sports Composite, Ayton provided some clarity Tuesday by giving the Arizona Wildcats a verbal commitment live on ESPN's SportsCenter.

wrote about Ayton's situation back in April. Whispers of eligibility concerns or bypassing college for the professional ranks have trailed the Bahamas native over the past 16 months.
Ayton averaged 29.2 points, 16.7 rebounds and 3.8 blocked shots per game last season at Hillcrest. He followed that up by earning first team All-EYBL honors from D1Circuit after putting up over 19 points and 11.5 rebounds per game for California Supreme.
