Football Recap: Southern Valley Eagles vs. Sutton Mustangs
Southern Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 81-6 loss at the hands of the Sutton Mustangs. The Eagles lost against the Mustangs in their previous head to head back in October of 2015, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 22-20 score last time.
Leading Sutton to victory were Wyatt Pollet and Griffen Bergen. Pollet rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while Bergen rushed for 64 yards and three touchdowns.
Southern Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Sutton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Southern Valley will look to defend their home field on Friday against Arapahoe at 7:00 p.m. Arapahoe knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 point or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Southern Valley likes a good challenge. As for Sutton, they will head out on the road to face off against Thayer Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
