Houston Made His Presence Known in Evangel Christian Academy's 58-48 Win

Peyton Houston was instrumental in extending Evangel Christian Academy's winning streak to five on Thursday. Houston did his part (and then some), throwing for 391 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 83 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries for the 'W'. He is becoming a predictor of Evangel Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least 300 passing yards the team is 3-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).

Captain Shreve had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Houston it was a similar story. Back in October (the last time Houston saw the Gators), he threw for 817 yards and eight touchdowns while completing 81.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns.

Cardarrian Devers Crosses Big Stat Threshold

Captain Shreve had to settle for second on Thursday, but Cardarrian Devers sure wasn't going down easily. Devers made a major impact, picking up 178 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He's now once again averaging 100+ receiving yards (102.1) per game. He showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 57 yards.

Evangel Christian Academy had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Devers it was a similar story. Back in October (the last time Devers saw the Eagles), he picked up 190 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Brodie Savage Dazzles in Captain Shreve Loss

Another Captain Shreve player making an appearance on this list is Brodie Savage. He threw for 409 yards and four touchdowns while completing 71.8% of his passes, and also punched in a rushing score. Evangel Christian Academy's probably not too fond of Savage given he always seems to get the better of them. Savage threw for 472 yards and five touchdowns while completing 74.3% of his passes the last time he and the Eagles duked it out back in October.
