Maranatha Christian and Pacifica squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Maranatha Christian had to settle for second. They took a 55-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pacifica Mariners. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Maranatha Christian lost, don't look at Will Ralston. Despite the final result, he shot 60% from the field on his way to 27 points and seven boards. That was a full 54% of Maranatha Christian's points, marking the third time in a row Ralston has posted more than a third of the team's points. Shane Piester was another key player, putting up eight points along with ten rebounds and six assists.

Even though they lost, Maranatha Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Maranatha Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 17-16. As for Pacifica, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-12 record this season.

Maranatha Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pacifica, they are taking a road trip to square off against Grant at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pacifica will be up against Grant's rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.91 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
