Basketball Game Preview: C.A. Johnson Hornets vs. Lee Central Stallions

Having just played yesterday, the C.A. Johnson Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Lee Central Stallions at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. C.A. Johnson has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

On Tuesday, everything came up roses for C.A. Johnson against Governor's School for Science & Math as the team secured a 97-26 win. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Eagles are ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Lee Central on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 60-38 margin over Midlands STEM Charter. The victory was nothing new for the Stallions as they're now sitting on three straight.

C.A. Johnson better focus on containing Sinatra Rembert and Omari Rampasard as the pair were huge in Lee Central's win. Rembert went 6 for 11 on his way to 12 points and five assists, while Rampasard went 5 of 7 en route to 10 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Rembert a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Demarius Gregg, who posted eight points and six boards.

Lee Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 12 consecutive matchups.

C.A. Johnson is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points over those games. As for Lee Central, the win got them back to even at 12-12.

C.A. Johnson didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lee Central in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 52-46 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for C.A. Johnson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
