Softball Game Preview: Interlake Saints vs. Highline Pirates

The Interlake Saints will head out to face off against the Highline Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Interlake came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 10-0 to Liberty. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Saints were not able to get on the board.

Interlake saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacky Jimenez (2027), who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Jimenez (2027) has hit this season.

Meanwhile, Highline came into Wednesday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 20-3 margin over Bellevue on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won five contests by 15 runs or more so far this season.

Highline's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Interlake, they moved to 9-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Interlake got the 'W' in their previous meeting last Monday against Highline by a conclusive 10-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
