Baseball Recap: Sparta Comes Up Short

Sparta lost against Seymour back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Trojans took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.

Sparta saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Miller, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Miller has become a key player for the Trojans: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 7-12 otherwise.

Sparta has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Seymour, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.

Looking ahead, Sparta will welcome Hartville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Seymour, they will venture away from home to take on Skyline at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seymour is facing Skyline at the right time seeing as Skyline is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
