Volleyball Recap: Beavercreek's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

After flying high against Centerville on Wednesday, Beavercreek came back down to earth. The Beavers came up short against the Hilliard Darby Panthers on Friday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Beavers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

While Beavercreek had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-22, 25-20.

Parker Hanson paced Beavercreek's offense, picking up 14 kills. Hanson got some help from Wade Clohessy and his 16 assists. Hanson was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

With the defeat, Beavercreek broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-7. As for Hilliard Darby, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.

Coming up, Beavercreek will take on Wayne at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hilliard Darby, they will face off against Olentangy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
