Volleyball Recap: Mclaurin's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

McLaurin came tearing into Thursday's matchup with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Piney Woods Tornadoes 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

One reason for the win was McLaurin's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-13, 25-12.

McLaurin was led to victory by Kaylee Holeman and Gracelyn Stewart. Holeman had eight digs and five aces, while Stewart had six digs and three aces. Holeman is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: McLaurin was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 37 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces every time they've taken the court this season.

McLaurin's record is now 17-3. As for Piney Woods, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

McLaurin will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tornadoes: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
