Basketball Recap: Saint James Falls Short Against Ranked Maret

Saint James is ranked highly in their home state and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Maret. The Saint James Saints fell to the Maret Frogs 67-62. The defeat continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Frogs: they've now lost seven in a row.

Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christian Gladchuk, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 17 points along with five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Xavier Colbert, who went 8 of 11 en route to 17 points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Saint James smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Saint James' loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Maret, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Saint James has already played their next game, a 69-58 victory against Georgetown Day on the 31st. As for Maret, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 84-56 defeat against Flint Hill on the 4th.
