Volleyball Recap: Medfield Falls Short Against Ranked Bourne

Medfield faced Bourne in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Warriors came up short against the Canalmen, falling 3-0. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Canalmen apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-16, 25-19.

Kendall Larkin paced Medfield's offense, picking up nine kills. Larkin got some help from Ava Pender and her 17 assists. Liya Raut and Ashley Fessenden kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Among those leading the charge was Avery Morrill, who had 12 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last nine games she's played.

Medfield's loss dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Bourne, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Medfield will face off against Attleboro at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bourne, they will challenge Dennis-Yarmouth Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
