Portage Trail - County recap November 5, 2013

Woodridge extended the longest winning streak in Portage Trail - County this week by beating Garfield, 41-13. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.

Streetsboro was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. The Rockets beat Waterloo 42-7 earlier in the week.

Woodridge's dynamic duo of Tom Finegan and Armad Richey-conrad proved to be unstoppable against the G-Men, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Finegan threw for 205 yards and 2 touchdowns and Richey-conrad had 102 yards receiving. Devonte Fellows helped Woodridge's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 36 yards.

Prince Franklin was a passing and rushing force as Streetsboro defeated the Vikings. Franklin's key target this week was Dakari Carter, who caught 3 passes for 89 yards.

He went 18-28 with 2 interceptions.

Ethan Flick made the biggest impact on defense this week as John Arlesic's team topped Waterloo. The 5-foot-11 sophomore recorded 2 fumbles and racked up 1 sack.

Garfield's Chase Chapman and Fred Maxey have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Chapman has thrown for 1,824 yards this season, while Maxey has 38 catches for 679 yards. Eric Ervin's team's Dalevon Davidson leads the league in rushing yards with 1,512.

Rootstown fell to Coventry 41-2 last week, the largest margin of any game.
