Volleyball Recap: Mercy McAuley Takes a Loss

Mercy McAuley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mason Comets. The Wolves were not able to make up for their defeat to the Comets from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

While Mercy McAuley ultimately came up short, they really made Mason work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 28-26, 21-25, 25-17.

Emma Adkins paced Mercy McAuley's offense, picking up 23 kills. Adkins got some help from Riley Kief and her 27 assists. McKenna Rischmann controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Mercy McAuley's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Mason, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Mercy McAuley will square off against Ursuline Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mason, they will host Middletown at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
