Baseball Recap: Foothill Mustangs vs. Burbank Titans
Foothill had lost 12 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-16 to make it 13. They lost 30-1 to the Burbank Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-2 on Tuesday.
Foothill saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keith Linihan, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. That double was Linihan's first of the season.
As for Burbank, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-7. Considering they have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
On Burbank's side, the team relied heavily on Devin Johnson, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Johnson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mario Mendoza, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Foothill didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-4 defeat against Valley on the 15th. As for Burbank, they have also already played their next match, a 16-2 victory against Florin on the 11th.
