On Wednesday Andrew Fletcher tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits, which was good enough to also set a new career-high in strikeouts. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his sixth in a row with less than one earned run. This year, he has an ERA of 2.63 over 8 innings pitched.

Even though Fletcher couldn't lead Cardinal Newman over Ukiah, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals are 8-1 against the Wildcats going back to April of 2022, a lead they'll look to extend.
