Basketball Game Preview: South Adams Starfires vs. Northfield Norsemen

The South Adams Starfires will head out on the road to take on the Northfield Norsemen at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. South Adams is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

South Adams is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Parkway on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. South Adams was beaten by Parkway 63-13. The Starfires were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-7.

Meanwhile, it was a classic North v. South duel when Northfield took on Southwood on Saturday. Northfield came out on top against Southwood by a score of 42-32. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Norsemen were the better team in the second half.

South Adams better focus on containing Elli Baker and Laney Haupert as the pair were huge in Northfield's win. Baker went 5 of 11 on her way to 11 points and three blocks, while Haupert went 6 of 14 on her way to 15 points.

Northfield now has a winning record of 7-6. As for South Adams, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.
