Soccer Game Preview: Mount Pleasant vs. North Stanly

The Mount Pleasant Tigers will square off against the North Stanly Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

North Stanly will be up against a hot Mount Pleasant squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Mount Pleasant never let Albemarle get on the board and left with a 4-0 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for Mount Pleasant, who have now won three games by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, North Stanly came into Wednesday's match having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over South Stanly on Wednesday. North Stanly's offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last four games.

They hit South Stanly with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Landon Kimery (5), Reanna Staggers (2), Gracelyn Ross, and Aneiry Popoca.

Mount Pleasant's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for North Stanly, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-8.
