Recap: Highland Hornets vs. Del Norte Knights
The Highland Hornets won the last time they faced the Del Norte Knights, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Highland walked away with a 39-31 victory over Del Norte. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Highland has scored all year.
It was another big night for Jesus Licon, who scored 27 points along with three blocks. That's the first time this season that he posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Raul Stanford, who scored three points along with seven rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Highland and bumps their season record up to 12-4. As for Del Norte, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland will take on Manzano at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Del Norte, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pecos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Pecos is ranked 55th, while Del Norte is ranked 78th).
