Baseball Recap: Hilltop Find Success

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Hilltop ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Pettisville Blackbirds. The Cadets haven't had any issues with the Blackbirds recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Terry Rebeck, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Hilltop: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-7 otherwise.

The win got Hilltop back to even at 7-7. As for Pettisville, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6.

Looking ahead, Hilltop is taking a road trip to take on Antwerp at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Pettisville, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Stryker at 5:00 p.m.
