Football Game Preview: Stanton Mustangs vs. Elkhorn Valley Falcons + How To Watch

Stanton is a perfect 3-0 against Elkhorn Valley since September of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Stanton put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They blew past Lutheran-Northeast 70-12. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-6.

Royce Hansen and Hunter Robinette were among the main playmakers for Stanton as the former rushed for 180 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries and the latter rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Robinette a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Packer Hogrefe, who rushed for 37 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Elkhorn Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge on Friday, sneaking past 34-31.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Jarett Werner and Drey Puppe. Werner had a great game and threw for 203 yards and four touchdowns. Meanwhile, Puppe was balling out in the loss, rushing for 111 yards and a pair of scores.

Stanton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Elkhorn Valley, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Everything came up roses for Stanton against Elkhorn Valley in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 76-24 win. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
