Lynchburg-Clay had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They didn't even let the Manchester Greyhounds on the board, marking their second-straight 10-0 shutout. Give the Mustangs' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Lynchburg-Clay let Trevor Niehaus and Quin Wells run wild. Niehaus went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Wells went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. Wells has been hot recently, having posted four or more RBI the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Roberts, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Lynchburg-Clay was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in six consecutive matches.

Lynchburg-Clay pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Manchester, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
