Football Recap: St. Joseph Regional Green Knights vs. Don Bosco Prep Ironmen
St. Joseph Regional had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They had just enough and edged out the Don Bosco Prep Ironmen 24-21. The game was the first time the Green Knights have beaten the Ironmen on their field since November 6, 2020.
St. Joseph Regional's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lamar Best, who rushed for 46 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 88 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards Best has posted since back in October of 2024.
Several Ironmen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carson Schoen, who threw for 193 yards and a pair of TDs. Dante Deluca helped Schoen out on the ground, rushing for 79 yards and one score.
