Football Recap: Sunnyside Christian Falls to Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian in First Game of Season

Sunnyside Christian had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 68-44 to the Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian Lions on Friday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Johnny Ferguson, who threw for 207 yards and five touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 115 yards on only five carries. Another pass catcher making a difference was Treyson Kast, who gained 152 total yards.

Sunnyside Christian has already played their next match, a 64-14 defeat against Dayton on the 12th. As for Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 55-8 victory against Yakama Nation Tribal on the 12th.
