Volleyball Recap: Lyle/Pacelli Comes Up Short

After flying high against Glenville-Emmons on Thursday, Lyle/Pacelli came back down to earth. The Athletics fell 2-0 to the Pine Island Panthers on Saturday. The Athletics have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-11.

Akeera Oman paced Lyle/Pacelli's offense, picking up two kills. Oman got some help from Autumn Drennan and her four assists. Jada Leif controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Lyle/Pacelli's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Pine Island, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Lyle/Pacelli has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Blooming Prairie on the 6th. As for Pine Island, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Dover-Eyota on the 6th.
