Softball Recap: West Takes a Loss

West fell victim to William Blount and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Governors. The Rebels' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Brooke Weaver spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

West's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for William Blount, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.

Looking ahead, West will be playing at home against Roane County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Rebels surely won't give up without a fight. As for William Blount, they will square off against Heritage at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
