Baseball Game Preview: Dover Eagles vs. Big Spring Bulldogs

The Dover Eagles will take on the Big Spring Bulldogs at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Dover is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Last Wednesday, Dover came up short against York Suburban and fell 6-3.

Dover got a good showing from Kamden Hinze, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Jimmy Ehrlinger made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. That run marked the first that he scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Laine Fisher, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Big Spring fell victim to Northern York and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Polar Bears. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Dover's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Big Spring, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Dover might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from Big Spring in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
