Softball Recap: San Jacinto Valley Academy Extends Winning Streak to Five

San Jacinto Valley Academy waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by an 18-6 margin over the Desert Christian Academy Conquerors. The Wolves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Conquerors, too.

Avilika Arana was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Priscilla Bidriezca was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Lillian Fernley, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

San Jacinto Valley Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 13.2.

San Jacinto Valley Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Desert Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Coincidentally, San Jacinto Valley Academy and Desert Christian Academy will both be playing Temecula Prep the next time they take the field. The Conquerors will host the Patriots at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Wolves will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
