Football Recap: Ooltewah Puts Losing Streak Behind Them + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Ooltewah, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with a 35-28 win over the Lenoir City Panthers on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Owls as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Ooltewah got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rhylon Hinton out in front who rushed for 72 yards and one touchdown on only five carries, and also threw for 136 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes. Those 72 rushing yards gave Hinton a new career-high. Ooltewah also got a significant boost from Jakyth Geter, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 128 yards.

Lenoir City lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Trea Jones, who rushed for 179 yards while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Caden Jay was another key rusher, rushing for 85 yards and two scores on only nine carries.

Ooltewah's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-7. As for Lenoir City, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ooltewah will challenge Hardin Valley Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lenoir City, they will square off against Soddy Daisy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
