Basketball Recap: Alleghany Comes Up Short

Alleghany lost against East Wilkes two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Alleghany Trojans came up short against the East Wilkes Cardinals, falling 44-22.

Alleghany got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Jaleah Gambill and Paula Martinez, who each put up six points. Lillian Carrillo held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.

Alleghany dropped their record down to 5-18 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for East Wilkes, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-12 record this season.

Alleghany does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Wilkes, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against South Stokes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as South Stokes comes in on three and East Wilkes on four.
