Basketball Preview: Central Christian Comets vs. Mogadore Wildcats
The Central Christian Comets will head out to challenge the Mogadore Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
Central Christian saw some tournament action on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 35-18 victory over Cuyahoga Heights.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mogadore). They took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 72-14 win over St. John. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-7.
Mogadore's win came from a few key players Central Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ari Tompkins, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten assists. Those ten assists gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Julie Tompkins, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 18 points and three steals.
Mogadore was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Central Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7.
